PROJECT OVERVIEW: Working with a client who balances a high-powered corporate role with a strong sense of their own style, this 3 storey villa was the subject of a back to brick refurbishment that retained the front facade and two supporting walls. As part of the complete rebuild, everything from the concrete slab that houses drainage and underfloor heating through to the last slate on the roof, every detail was designed with a strong collaborative approach between the client, build team and associated professionals.
We worked hard to upgrade every element of this build to exacting Conservation Area guidelines by stripping off the years of paint on both facades and re-pointing and restoring all of the decorative late Victorian detailing. The traditional aesthetic was complemented by the industrial, using simple (yet oversize) Crittall glazing from Bespoke Glazing Design which gives the lush rear garden (sourced and planted by Greenstone Landscaping) an industrial elegance. We moved drains, old foundations and tonnes of waste to provide a seamless flow from inside entertaining areas through to the outside.
The impressive kitchen was designed and installed by Day True, who fashioned the kitchen, cocktail cabinet and utility room to the client’s design and vision. Our in-house cabinet makers created bespoke cabinetry elsewhere on the ground floor, enhancing the width of this generously-proportioned home.
On the first floor, we worked closely with the architect and engineer, moving all internal walls and chimney breasts to create a primary suite of dreams. Our in-house joiners once again created a sophisticated dressing room which leads to the spa-like master bathroom, showcasing kit from Bathrooms Source and Aston Matthews. As part of the rebuild and refurbishment, all 3 storeys of the house were upgraded with concealed AC and in-built speakers. As one of our largest projects to-date, we had the opportunity to work with new contractors and specialists, which has led to an enhanced “little black book” to use for our next set of clients!
